Artistic Experiences

THE ACFM AT THE FESTIVAL

« L’ACFM au Festival » is a cultural crossroads showcasing emerging talented youths and adults within the context of the Festival du Voyageur (FdV). By way of this large-scale event, artists and artisans have the opportunity to promote their cultural diversity through song, music and danse. Through 19 cultural committees, the ACFM seeks to increase opportunities to promote the French language and culture as well as highlight rural communities. L’ACFM au Festival is also a revered opportunity for emerging artists to eventually “tour” in these regions. This activity is made possible by a longstanding parnership with the Festival du Voyageur and our local artists. Thanks to a long tradition with Francofonds, rural talent is put on display at the Festival du Voyageur!

L’ACFM au Festival is scheduled for February 20, 2016 at the Pembina Tent and shall cater to everyone, young and old. The lineup will be available soon.

ANNUAL CULTURAL GATHERING

The Annual Cultural Gathering is the meeting of the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Association Inc./Association culturelle franco-manitobaine, inc.’s (ACFM) members to discuss rural cultural and artistic development. The ACFM takes advantage of this meeting to bring itself up to speed regarding members’ needs and to hold its business meeting regarding its annual programming.

An open mic session allows one representative from each cultural committee to take the floor and share their accomplishments and innovations from the past year.

Also, the hosting committee is invited to highlight  their community’s talents by organizing an evening of performances. All this work serves to keep our culture and arts alive and interesting so our young francophone and francophile families, adolescents, adults and elders can benefit from our beautiful culture in their rural communities. This Annual Gathering is rich and filled with good networking opportunities.

In 2015, the Contact Ouest of the Réseau des grands espaces will take place in Manitoba.
